St Cuthberts Mill Saunders Waterford Watercolour Paper 300 g/m²
St Cuthberts Mill Saunders Waterford Watercolour Paper 300 g/m²
Saunders Waterford - watercolour painting at the highest level
Saunders Waterford is an exquisite English watercolour paper traditionally made on a cylinder round screen machine. This is a high quality paper made by the St Cuthberts Mill and awarded by the Royal Watercolour Society. Made from 100% cotton, the highest quality material for paper making, with the highest conservatory demands.
Archiving
Each watercolour paper sheet is calcium carbonate buffered to protect finished works from discoloration caused by acidic pollution. St Cuthberts Mill Saunders Waterford is free of optical brighteners, which guarantees that the white tone remains over time and the watercolour paper will not yellow. The fungicide treatment ensures optimal protection and optimal ageing resistance of the high-quality watercolour paper.
The surface
The appealing surface of the watercolour paper is created by the use of natural wool felts that give it a distinctive texture as well as by natural arters, which contribute to the cherished surface through arbitrary chaining and tangling. The texture is coated with gelatine, which strengthens and makes it resistant to erasing, scratching and scraping without tearing.
Application techniques:
The paper is suitable for any watercolour technique as well as gouache, acrylic, pastel, ink, coloured pencils, printing techniques and charcoal.
Saunders Waterford watercolour paper is available in different surface weights and formats - from all around glued blocks to sheets and rolls. In addition, you can choose between two shades: natural white and extra white. Here you will receive a single-sided glued pad in the format 23 x 31 cm with 12 sheets and a surface weight of 300 g/m² with a rough surface in natural white. The cardboard on the back brings enough stability - ideal for carrying and painting on the go and when travelling.
St Cuthberts Mill - The Paper Making
Located in the southwest of England, St Cuthberts Mill has had experience in paper making since the beginning of the 18th century. Beautiful papers are still produced using the traditional round sieve process. For this purpose, one of the last round sieve machines still working worldwide. The special thing about paper made in the round sieve process is its unique texture, which is achieved by using natural wool felts, as well as a wonderful surface texture due to arbitrary dispersion of paper fibres over the sheet. For the production of this high-quality paper is available at St Cuthberts Mill.
